about our current artists

Omar Shaheed - For Omar Shaheed, sculpting is a true passion. Some of his sculptures have been created in as little as 4 to 5 hours while others have taken weeks. Whatever length of time is put into the piece, he must be satisfied with the result. Although Omar's talent is truly inborn, he studied at Memphis Art College and San Francisco Academy of Art College. He has been sculpting for the past 25 years and has shown across the country from New York to California as well as abroad. Art connoisseurs have collected his works for his unique ability to turn a lifeless piece of stone into a truly awe inspiring form.

Alan Hamwi - Alan attended Antioch University with a major in sculpture. He also studied at California College of Arts and Crafts as well as The Aegean School of Fine Arts in Paros, Greece. He sculpts in clay as well as almost any other stone he desires. Alan travels the country year round doing numerous sculpture shows . He has been commissioned for several works by the Columbus Zoo for his realistic portrayal of earth's animals as well as by Mt. Carmel Hospital . He also does a great job with the human form. Hamwi's piece entitled "Between Two Worlds" depicts a large bronze male nude precisely balanced on one toe with every muscle and tendon sculpted to perfection. It is currently the centerpiece of the gallery and is always a conversation piece.

Denson Parker - Although trained in the field of engineering, Denson Parker somehow still possesses the desire to create art. His precisely laser cut metals result in dramatic fountains and sculptural pieces. His works are in the collection of several prominent corporations and individuals.

Joe Howard - We are usually amazed when a person is blessed with the ability to create art in a medium such as painting, but we are even more awed when we come across someone who is able to both paint and sculpt. Joe Howard is that person. After painting for several years, Joe suddenly decided one day that he would try his hand at sculpting. Without a single lesson, he created his first piece of sculpture entitled "Genesis" which depicts Adam and Eve reaching for the fateful apple.

Patrick Turner - a little bit of this and a little bit of that can turn into much more when crafted by the hands of Patrick Turner. His collages incorporate a multitude of objects that one might not find significant until paired with the just the right items. Photos, paper, shells, bottle caps, you name it and Patrick can turn it into a piece of work fit for any home.

Shawn Walburn - Shawn has being painting for the past 15 years. His painting style varies from bold, bright works to soft, calming works. He loves to paint the human form in various poses.

Michaelangelo Lovelace - This Cleveland born artist has been creating art since his childhood. He was initially told that he could not be an artist. This fueled his passion to pursue this field despite the negative comments of others. Although Lovelace briefly attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, he is generally self taught. His works fall in the category of Outsider Art. His works depict his daily views of his inner city Cleveland neighborhood. He has exhibited throughout the Cleveland area in such places as The Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, SPACES, Ursaline College as well as the the Springfield Museum of Art and The New York Outsider Art Show. He has been commissioned to do murals as well as oversized paintings.
